From 2011 to 2013 EMDASH partnered with Frieze Art Fair London to realise Frieze Projects, an ambitious programme of non-commercial artist commissions exhibited within or around Frieze London.

Frieze Projects
Frieze Projects 2013 was curated by Nicola Lees and included seven specially commissioned projects, including Lili Reynaud Dewar’s examination of writers who make themselves the subjects of their writings, Ken Okiishi’s on-site creation of abstract works through the medium of paint-balling and Rivane Neuenschwander’s participatory performance involving hidden spying devices.

Frieze Projects
In 2012, five projects were curated by Sarah McCrory, including Grizedale Arts / Yangjiang Group’s food performances and Thomas Bayerle’s patterned transformation of the entrance of the fair and an external public square – a project originally conceived of in 1967 brought to life almost five decades later.

Frieze Projects
In 2011, curated by Sara McCrory, eight projects were realized including Christian Jankowski’s selling a full-size luxury motor yacht on a stand at the fair, as well as Pierre Huyghe’s aquarium that hosted a live ecosystem within the fair.
