In 2013 Finnish artist Pilvi Takala was selected from 556 applications to win the EMDASH Award. Takala gave a committee of children aged between 8–12 years old from the Eastside Youth Centre in Bow, London, the opportunity to decide on how to use the majority of the Award production budget.

After research and development costs and a series of workshops, the children announced they would put their £7,000 to use in creating a “five-star bouncy house”, which can now be hired from the Eastside Youth Centre in Bow.
